Sr. Service & Assembly Technician for PRI Operations

POSITION OVERVIEW:  Photo Research is a world leader and innovator in high precision scientific grade electro-optical instrumentation and systems providing a comprehensive range of products and services to improve precision and quality.  The Sr. Service & Assembly Technician is responsible for the manufacture and service of PRI products and for the training of manufacturing team members. This activity includes assembly and test of production build as well as assessment, repair and calibration of service returns. The role will also ensure that Manufacturing team members are performing tasks to standard work and per industry standards.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Perform service related activities including pre-calibration, repair, and calibration in support of customer returns.
  2. Perform production related activities including assembly, alignment, calibration and quality control in support of customer orders.
  3. Train production team members on the production and service of PRI products.
  4. Ensure production and service is completed in compliance with technical requirements and industry standards.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Knowledge:  Assembly, electronics, work standards, electronics calibration, quality control.

Skills:  Retained skills associated with assembly, test, calibration, and repair of complex opto-electronic products.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education:     A.A.S in Electronics Preferred.

Experience:  7+ years’ experience the production of electronic equipment required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:  This position will report to the Operations Manager.

AUTHORITIES/DECISIONS MADE AS PART OF REGULAR DUTIES: This position will be responsible for training of production team members as well as the production and service of finished devices.

 WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT:  Regularly lift 30-50 pounds & perform repetitive tasks.  Regularly possess manual dexterity to handle electronic components and assemblies.
