Adds Smart Cameras to Complement Existing Camera and Software Solutions
SYRACUSE, N.Y. September 11, 2018 — JADAK, a business unit of Novanta Corporation, announced yesterday that it has significantly enhanced its machine vision capability by adding the Imaging Solutions Group (ISG) smart cameras and imaging systems to its existing portfolio. The business expects this will result in improved accuracy, precision, and speed of its machine vision solutions for medical equipment manufacturers. The ISG team, based in Rochester, New York, joins JADAK and brings its engineering expertise in designing custom applications for customers. The company is engaged in the business of designing, customizing, and manufacturing high-end video imaging platforms and smart camera systems for industrial, medical, and commercial original equipment manufacturers.
“ISG’s intelligent cameras will provide our customers with a broader and more robust line of embedded machine vision and image analysis solutions,” said Janie Goddard, President of JADAK. “Our expanded and proven portfolio of cameras provides us with increased competency in optical, mechanical and electrical design, delivering accurate and repeatable results with sensitivity to capture images in low light or high motion.”
A leading supplier of embedded machine vision solutions to the healthcare market, JADAK provides smart camera imagers, software image analysis solutions, and engineering expertise. JADAK was the first to implement embedded machine vision into medical devices, such as clinical analyzers, surgical machines and assay readers. In 2017, JADAK released Clarity 2.0, its own proprietary machine vision software package that provides the flexibility to configure and control basic machine vision solutions with smart cameras. JADAK’s existing portfolio of smart cameras includes the Vibe, FM-5 and SC-6.
ISG’s line of Allegro™ Smart Cameras complements JADAK’s existing camera and software solutions, providing customizable, high resolution machine vision cameras with embedded Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) capabilities. These cameras add image clearness and embedded image processing to improve accuracy and precision while also increasing processing speed. The Allegro USB3 and Allegro GiGE cameras provide compact footprints, high resolution, high performance, flexibility and programmability for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) system designers.
